Environmentally-friendly TAMEH

Transposition in Q4 2014 to the Polish legislation of Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 2010 on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) - known as IED, introduces to our legal system much stricter standards with respect to emissions of certain substances to air. Those requirements became even more stringent on August 17, 2017 when Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2017/1442 of 31 July 2017 establishing best available techniques (BAT) conclusions for large combustion plants was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Since its creation, TAMEH POLSKA has greatly emphasized environmental and efficiency activities which will make it possible for all our Plants to meet legal requirements and expectations of the local community.
A new 55 MWe turbo generator was handed over for operation last year in Generation Plant Nowa in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Another key environmental investment is in progress in Dąbrowa Górnicza - erection of waste gas DeNOx and DeSOx installations, as well as the erection of two new top recovery turbines (TRT), 12.5 MWe each, which will facilitate emission-free generation of electric energy.
Modernization of one of the boilers involving its adaptation to run on gas fuels only was completed in Generation Plant Kraków in Q1 2018. Erection of two gas boilers and a 55 MWe turbo generator is almost finished.
And last but not least, Generation Plant Blachownia in Kędzierzyn Koźle where works are in progress on the development of a comprehensive concept covering modernization of boilers and reduction of nitrogen oxide emission. All investments described contribute to the reduction of pollutions emitted to the atmosphere, and limit the impact of the Plants on other environmental aspects thanks to the use of new technologies, while at the same time increasing efficiency and reliability of the Company's operations.
