On 28.03.2019, exercises of the Fire Protection and Gas Rescue Service and employees of ZW Nowa took place in the terms of alarming and using evacuation procedures in buildings classified as people's risk category.

At 9:00 am during the laboratory work on the analysis of coal, a simulation of inflammation of combustible substances took place. Laboratory workers that were at the place, noticed smoke coming out from the laboratory. Intense smoke in the room and high temperature made it impossible to take extinguishing actions using hand-held extinguishing equipment. The Head of the Manufacturing Department was notified about the incident. As a result of large smoke, alarm systems and building smoke extraction systems were activated. After analyzing the situation, the Head of the Manufacturing Department ordered the evacuation of the administration building by designated coordinators. Due to the situation, large smoke and flames, the ArcelorMittal Poland S.A. Emergency Center was notified by phone in Dąbrowa Górnicza and PSK PSP.

Fire-fighting vehicles and chemical rescue services of the Fire and Rescue Service of AMP were directly sent to the place of the fire. Due to the threat to life, an ambulance was ordered to the place of accident. As a result of the actions taken by the emergency services and employees of the Plant, the fire in the laboratory room was distinguished. After checking the remaining rooms, the Rescue Operation Manager allowed the employees to return to the building and continue their work.

These were the next exercises improving the cooperation of the Fire Protection and Gas Rescue Service AMP and the employees of Zakład Wytwarzania Nowa in Dąbrowa Górnicza in the area of applying emergency procedures and removing the effects of industrial failures at the plant.
